Alphonso Modular the man who we named our modular frames after was an entrepreneur working behind the scenes in the Art industry. He influenced the industry in numerous ways, though he hardly got a mention until we at Art 'n' Such uncovered him and discovered that most well known artworks could actually be credited to him. For centuries poor Alphonso influenced art tastes and invented new methods of producing art. Unfortunately he was one of those unlucky people who always get the short straw while others got the credit.
We first heard about him when he was working as a comedian in Leonardo Da Vinci's employ. His function was to entertain the models while Leonardo was painting them. Apparently the joke about the rubber chicken and the feather was the one that made Mona Lisa finally smile. One of my favorite stories though was the time he fell off his bike when he was delivering paints and spilled everything except the blues. So enterprising Alphonso used his powers and persuaded Gainsborough to paint his next portrait in shades of blue.
Some say that Alphonso is a myth, that no one could have lived that long and been that stupid, but we at Art 'n' Such believe in him, we need to. Just as Santa Claus has to be true to bring happiness to thousands of children, we artists must also believe in him or how else could those marvelous art discoveries have happened?
